My Story

Being a classically trained studio dancer in ballet, jazz, contemporary, and hip hop, dance instruction and dance choreography was something that I just did. Dancing 6 days a week for 3 to 4 hours a day at a studio was normal life to me. I went onto dance on scholarship for both the University of Washington and the University of California Los Angeles where I earned my Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Dance and World Arts and Cultures. I was also a college cheerleader but continued to choreograph for various dance studios and dance teams and even choreographed the Aloha Bowl halftime show.

Fast forward 20 years through a successful corporate career in medical sales and management I found myself in my late thirties as a mother of 2 small children and an out of shape dancer. It was time to get back into shape so I joined a local athletic club that offered something called Zumba. It wasn’t long before I was an instructor and started to pull together elements from dance styles from both my past and present and marry them into a dance fitness format that would eventually become Danz Insanity. After a move to Raleigh North Carolina I decided to establish Danz Insanity as a unique dance fitness format and start to introduce it to a broader audience. Danz Insanity combines latin rhythms, hip hop beats, and dance athletics into a unique cardio intensive style. Welcome to Danz Insanity Exercise in Disguise!
